Mumbai Police Announces Traffic Restrictions for Bandra Fair 2024 at Mount Mary Church

As the much-awaited Bandra Fair 2024 approaches, the Mumbai Police have issued a traffic notification outlining the restrictions that will be in place around Mount Mary Church and in parts of Bandra West. The restrictions are set to be implemented from September 8 and will remain in effect until September 16 to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during this festive period.

The Bandra Fair, which takes place annually to celebrate the Nativity of Mother Mary, attracts devotees from all over the country to the iconic Mount Mary Church in Bandra West. The fair is a vibrant and joyous occasion filled with religious fervor, cultural activities, and stalls offering a variety of goods and treats for visitors to enjoy.

In anticipation of the large crowds expected to visit the church during the fair, the Mumbai Police have put in place a comprehensive traffic management plan to regulate vehicular movement in the area. The aim is to minimize congestion, facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles, and ensure the safety of both devotees and residents in the vicinity.

Key Traffic Restrictions:

1. Mount Mary Road: Closed for all vehicles except those of local residents with car passes and emergency vehicles from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
2. Kane Road: Designated as ‘One Way’ for all vehicles from its junction with Mount Mary Road to its junction with B. J. Road. No entry from B.J. Road.
3. Pereira Road: One way from East to West, i.e. ‘No Entry’ from B.J. Road.
4. St. John Baptista Road: Closed for all vehicular traffic, except for local residents with special passes from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Additionally, parking or halting of vehicles will be prohibited on both sides of the following roads from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM between September 8 and September 16:
– Mount Mary Road
– Pereira Road
– Kane Road
– Hill Road (Between its junction with St. Paul’s Road and Mehboob Studio junction)
– Mt. Carmel Road
– Chapel Road
– John Baptist Road
– St Sebastian Road
– Rebello Road
– Dr. Peter Dias Road
