Fire Breaks Out on Second Floor of Thane Building; No Casualties Reported
A fire incident occurred on the second floor of a building in Thane on Sunday night, with no injuries reported. The Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) confirmed that the fire broke out on January 5 at approximately 10:27 PM. The incident took place on the second floor of a building located opposite Chhabaiyya Park in Balkum, Thane West.
Swift Response and Extinguishing the Blaze
Upon receiving information about the fire, the Disaster Management Cell quickly mobilized local authorities into action. The Disaster Management Officer, Chief Fire Officer, and Fire Brigade personnel, alongside the Disaster Management Cell team, promptly arrived at the scene. To combat the blaze, four fire engines and one water tanker were deployed. By 11:30 PM, the fire was successfully extinguished, and the situation was brought under control. The combined efforts of the fire brigade personnel and Disaster Management Cell staff ensured the area’s security.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. Residents and individuals in nearby areas are advised to remain cautious and alert for any further developments. Earlier, a fire broke out at a fertilizer production facility in the Mumbra area of Thane district, resulting in no injuries. Additionally, a massive fire engulfed two chemical factories in Boisar-Tarapur MIDC in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, which required significant firefighting efforts to control the blaze and prevent any casualties.
