A commuter from Dombivli, while traveling from Mumbai towards Dombivli, forgot his bag in a local train while alighting at Dombivli railway station on Thursday. After going home, this passenger realized that he had forgotten a bag containing cash worth 1 lakh and 62 thousand rupees in the local train. The bag was found by the Dombivali railway police during local patrolling at Thakurli railway station.

The police traced the passenger and returned the bag containing the cash to him. Due to the honesty of the police constable of Dombivli GRP police station, the bag of money was returned to the passenger. The name of the passenger who forgot the bag in the local train is Jairam Sanjeev Shetty (42). Jairam Shetty had gone to Vikhroli from Dombivli on Thursday for some work. After finishing work, he boarded a Kalyan-bound local train at Vikhroli railway station. After a while, he got busy with his phone and forgot about his bag.

After reaching home, Shetty realized that he had left his bag of cash in the local train. On the occasion of August 15, the police of Dombivli GRP Police Station were patrolling Thakurli Railway Station on Thursday evening. When the local train arrived at Thakurli railway station, Constable Chaudhary of Dombivli GRP Police Station, Female Police Constable Bamble, Boinwad, Female Constable Jadhav boarded the local coach to check whether there were any suspicious items. They found a black bag in the middle local compartment and there was no passenger.

Suspicious, the police took pictures of the bag and checked it. Upon checking, they found cash worth more than one and a half lakh. After realizing that the bag belonged to Jairam Shetty of Dombivli as per the documents in the bag, the police contacted Shetty. He was called to Dombivli GRP Police Station, and his bag was returned to him in the presence of Senior Police Inspector Kiran Undere.
