Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kasarvadavali in Thane on October 5, and in preparation for his visit, the Navi Mumbai police have imposed a complete ban on heavy vehicles entering Thane. The ban will be in effect from Friday midnight to Saturday midnight, restricting the movement of heavy vehicles from Navi Mumbai towards Thane.

The timing of the Prime Minister’s visit coincides with the Navratri festival, which is expected to result in heavy traffic on major roads, including the Thane-Panvel road. To avoid any traffic issues during the PM’s visit, the ban on heavy vehicles entering Thane has been put in place.

In order to provide alternative routes for heavy vehicles traveling towards Thane from Navi Mumbai, the Navi Mumbai traffic police have issued a notification. Vehicles bound for Nashik will need to take the JNPT junction – Karjat – Murbad – Shahpur – Kasara – Igatpuri route. For vehicles heading to Gujarat, the designated route is JNPT junction – Karjat – Murbad – Shahpur – Wada – Manor Toll Naka from JNPT junction near Panvel. Additionally, an alternate route has been established from JNPT junction via the Pune expressway to Chakan, and then vehicles can take the Ahmednagar-Nashik highway to reach their destinations.

It is important to note that the ban on heavy vehicles entering Thane is specific to vehicles passing through Navi Mumbai to Thane route. Vehicles carrying essential goods will not be affected by the restriction. Checkpoints will be set up at strategic locations including Kharpada, T point, Rabale, Taloja, Mahape-Shilphata, Chandni chowk at Nhava Sheva, Uran, and Gavhan phata to ensure compliance with the ban.

Overall, the imposition of the ban on heavy vehicles entering Thane is a precautionary measure taken by the Navi Mumbai police to ensure smooth traffic flow and security during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kasarvadavali. By providing alternative routes and enforcing the ban strictly, authorities aim to minimize any disruptions and inconvenience to the public while maintaining safety and order on the roads.
