The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra has revealed its plans and promises if elected to power in the upcoming assembly elections. The MVA has pledged to conduct elections for 27 municipal corporations and local bodies that have been delayed for a long time. Additionally, they have vowed to fill 2.5 lakh state government job vacancies within 100 days and create 1.25 million jobs over the next five years.

In a bid to empower women and youth, the MVA manifesto includes several key initiatives. Girls reaching 18 years of age will receive ₹1 lakh, while women employees will be granted two optional leave days during menstruation. The manifesto also promises six cooking gas cylinders a year for ₹500 each, free cervical cancer vaccines for girls aged 9 to 16, and free 100 units of power for consumption up to 300 units.

The joint manifesto was released by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, NCP-SP working president Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut in Mumbai. These promises complement the existing guarantees made by the Opposition coalition, including ₹3000 monthly support for poor women, debt waivers of up to ₹3 lakh for farmers, and ₹4,000 monthly allowance for unemployed youths.

To address the concerns of women voters, the MVA manifesto includes plans to establish a “Nirbhaya Maharashtra” policy for women’s safety. For the youth demographic, the manifesto promises a Youth Commission for welfare and ₹4,000 allowance for the unemployed. Moreover, in response to the controversy surrounding civil services examinations in Maharashtra, the manifesto commits to conducting the Maharashtra Public Service Commission exam and announcing results within 45 days.

The MVA’s focus on women and youth empowerment is evident in its comprehensive manifesto, which aims to address key issues and concerns facing these demographics. With a strong emphasis on job creation, social welfare, and health initiatives, the MVA is positioning itself as a progressive and inclusive choice for voters in Maharashtra.
