Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently spoke at the “Impact With Youth Conclave 2024” on International Youth Day, encouraging young people to strive for success and contribute towards making India a developed nation by 2047. He highlighted the launch of the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat ‘MY Bharat’ portal by the Centre, which aims to serve as a one-stop platform for the youth.

The theme of this year’s International Youth Day, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ underscores the importance of digitalization and the crucial role that young individuals play in driving this transformation. Minister Mandaviya emphasized that with India’s population of 140 crore, it is a collective responsibility to propel the country towards development, with youth bearing a special role in this process.

He outlined key characteristics that successful individuals possess, including commitment, dedication, hard work, and setting goals. Mandaviya encouraged the youth to adopt these qualities, work towards their objectives with determination, and strive for success not only for themselves but also for the nation’s progress.

The Minister shared that approximately 1.5 crore people have already registered on the ‘MY Bharat’ portal, indicating a significant interest among the youth. The platform aims to provide various opportunities for young individuals, ranging from career prospects to enrollments and applications. It will serve as a bridge for connecting users with national and international systems, offering a wide array of benefits and resources.

Furthermore, volunteers will be visiting 5,000 college campuses to introduce students to the features of MY Bharat, including internship schemes and other initiatives outlined in the Union Budget. Mandaviya highlighted that extensive consultation and feedback from youth groups have been instrumental in enhancing the portal’s functionalities and ensuring its effectiveness in supporting the young population.

In alignment with the UNICEF’s mission, Cynthia McCaffrey emphasized the importance of engaging youth in global initiatives and fostering their contributions to society. She reiterated the commitment to enhancing young people’s access to skill development, volunteering opportunities, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic prospects through collaborative efforts with the Government of India and leveraging digital platforms like YouthHub.

As we commemorate International Youth Day, it serves as a poignant reminder of the valuable contributions that young individuals make to communities and the world at large. The collective efforts of governments, organizations, and youth themselves are vital in harnessing the potential of the next generation and paving the way for a prosperous and developed India by 2047. Let us empower our youth, provide them with the necessary tools and opportunities, and collectively work towards a brighter future for the nation.
