Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested After Year on the Run
Mumbai police have finally apprehended Mohammad Hashib, the suspect wanted for a brutal attack on two brothers over playground space. The incident, which occurred on January 22, 2024, at Laxmi Park in Shankarwadi, left one of the brothers with severe injuries.
Playground Dispute Turns Violent
The altercation began when Hashib, armed with a cricket bat, confronted Dinesh Maruti Pachkale and his brother Chandrshekar Pachkale, who were playing cricket in the park. Hashib demanded that they move to another area, sparking a heated argument. As tensions escalated, Hashib, along with three others, attacked the brothers, leaving Dinesh with serious head and chest injuries that required hospitalization. Chandrshekar, fortunately, only needed first aid.

Hashib appeared before the Borivali local court on Monday, where he was remanded to police custody.
