So, like, there was this official statement, right? And it said that there was this high-level meeting chaired by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. And guess what? The decision they made was about the Elphinstone Bridge construction work. Apparently, it was supposed to affect all 19 buildings in the area, but now, only two buildings will be directly impacted. Wow, big change there, huh?

The Maharashtra government, in a move that’s definitely gonna make people happy, announced that they’re gonna redevelop all 19 buildings in the same area and give the residents new homes at the same location. I mean, that’s pretty cool, right? No need to move to a different place. The statement mentioned that the decision was made during the meeting with CM Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, along with other officials from MMRDA, BMC, and stuff like that.

So, apparently, this minister dude named Ashish Shelar said that the local MLA and residents were like, “Hey, don’t kick us out of our homes, man.” And guess what? They listened! The issue was brought up in the meeting, and now, only two buildings will be affected by the construction work instead of all 19. But hey, the residents are still a bit worried about the other 17 buildings, you know? Can’t blame them for being concerned.

To ease their worries, Shelar asked the MMRDA to redevelop all 19 buildings without waiting for some private developer to step in. And you know what? CM Fadnavis said, “Sure thing, let’s do it.” That’s pretty awesome, right? And get this, the residents of the two affected buildings will be given new homes at the same place instead of being moved to Kurla or getting some cash compensation. That’s some good news for sure.

According to the plan, only the peeps from two buildings will be moved to a temporary place in Kurla. But don’t worry, once the other 17 buildings are done being redeveloped, they’ll also get new homes at the same location. So, everyone’s gonna be back together eventually. Shelar mentioned how CM Fadnavis and Deputy CM Shinde are like heroes for making sure the affected residents get to stay in their area.
