Security concerns continue to plague Indian airlines as both Akasa Air and IndiGo flights received bomb threats on Tuesday. The Akasa Air flight QP 1612 from Bangalore to Varanasi was forced to divert to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad after receiving a bomb threat around 5:05 pm. The flight landed safely at RGIA at approximately 5:10 pm and was directed to an isolation bay for precautionary measures. Emergency protocols were activated, and anti-sabotage checks were conducted, revealing nothing suspicious.
In addition to the incident involving Akasa Air, IndiGo airlines also received 13 bomb threats on the same day. This adds to the 30 other bomb threats that were reported earlier on Tuesday. In total, Indian airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, Akasa, and Vistara, received a startling 46 bomb threats by Tuesday evening. Air India received 13 threats, IndiGo received 13, Akasa Air received 12, and Vistara received 8, according to officials.
