Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray recently revealed his party’s election manifesto, known as Vachan Nama, promising significant changes if they come to power in Maharashtra. One of the key highlights of the manifesto is the establishment of a new International Finance Centre in Dharavi, aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth in the area.
During the announcement at his residence, Matoshree, Thackeray emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of unemployment among the youth. He mentioned that the Dharavi redevelopment project, which was given to Adani, would be scrapped to make way for the International Finance Centre. This move is expected to provide a much-needed boost to employment in the region.
In addition to the International Finance Centre, the manifesto also includes a promise to reinstate the Old Pension Scheme for government employees. Thackeray, along with party leaders Subhash Desai and Anil Parab, highlighted the commitment to the welfare of various sections of society.
Furthermore, the manifesto pledges to revoke the government order on cluster development in Mumbai’s fishing villages, particularly Koliwada, to ensure that redevelopment projects cater to the needs and demands of the local community, especially fishermen.
Thackeray also reiterated the five guarantees previously announced by the party, which have now been incorporated into the manifesto. These guarantees include free education for male students, affordable housing for the Marathi community in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, dedicated women’s police stations, guaranteed crop prices for farmers, and price stability for essential commodities such as sugar, pulses, oil, wheat, and rice.
The manifesto reflects the party’s commitment to addressing key issues affecting different segments of society and outlines a vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Maharashtra. With the promise of the International Finance Centre in Dharavi and other welfare measures, Shiv Sena (UBT) aims to garner support from voters in the upcoming elections.
As the political landscape in Maharashtra continues to evolve, the release of the Vachan Nama manifesto sets the tone for the upcoming polls and showcases the party’s priorities and promises for the state’s development and progress.
