The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) organized a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Mumbai on August 11, 2024, across all 25 administrative divisions of the city. The event saw a diverse group of participants, including local legislators, film stars, senior citizens, and officials. This yatra is part of the Union government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program, which aims to instill national pride among citizens through various activities like Tiranga Yatras, Tiranga Rallies, Manavandana Ceremonies, and Tiranga Melas.
The BMC has been conducting multiple events as part of the campaign since August 9, with a total of 47 Tiranga Yatras held in Mumbai so far. The civic agency has also taken innovative steps to increase campaign visibility, such as playing the campaign song ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ on Solid Waste Management vans and setting up selfie booths and canvases throughout the city for people to express their patriotism.
As the campaign progresses, the BMC has encouraged residents to display the tricolour at home from August 13 to August 15 to further promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative. The door-to-door campaign will continue until Independence Day, urging citizens to participate in celebrating the national spirit and unity. It is a great opportunity for Mumbaikars to come together and show their love for the country during this festive period.
Overall, the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organized by the BMC has seen significant participation and enthusiasm from citizens, local representatives, and public figures. The campaign’s various activities and initiatives aim to foster a sense of patriotism and pride in being Indian among the people of Mumbai. It is heartening to see such widespread support for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program, and the BMC’s efforts to engage the community in celebrating Independence Day are commendable. Let’s hope that this campaign continues to inspire unity and love for the nation among all Mumbaikars.
