Central Railway to Operate 14 Additional Ganeshotsav 2024 Special Trains from Mumbai
The Central Railway (CR) has announced that it will be running 14 additional unreserved special trains from Mumbai to cater to devotees traveling for the Ganeshotsav 2024 festivities. The decision comes in light of the expected increase in passenger traffic during the auspicious occasion.
CR’s press release detailed the schedule of the special trains that will be operational from both Panvel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai. The trains will be running from Thursday to Sunday to accommodate the influx of passengers celebrating Ganeshotsav.
CSMT-Khed-CSMT Unreserved Special Trains
One of the special trains announced by CR is the CSMT-Khed-CSMT Unreserved Special, which will consist of two trips. The train will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai at 11:30 pm on Thursday and arrive at Khed at 5:15 am the next day. The return journey will depart from Khed at 6:00 am on Monday and arrive back at CSMT Mumbai at 1:30 pm the same day. The train will make stops at various stations including Dadar, Thane, and Panvel, among others.
Panvel-Khed-Panvel Unreserved Special Trains
Additionally, CR will be operating six trips of the Panvel-Khed-Panvel Unreserved Special trains. These trains will depart from Panvel at 11:00 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and reach Khed at 2:45 pm on the same day. The return journey will depart from Khed at 3:15 pm on the respective days and arrive back at Panvel at 8:30 pm. The trains will make stops at multiple stations along the route to accommodate passengers.
Passengers traveling on these special trains for the Ganeshotsav 2024 festivities are advised to book their tickets through the UTS system before departure. Normal charges applicable for superfast mail/express trains will be levied for the special Ganeshotsav services.
