Three people were injured in Santacruz after a dumper lost control and collided with two cars and two autorickshaws. The accident took place as the dumper was traveling from Kapadia Nagar to Hans Bhugra Junction, Santacruz East, and the driver lost control on a slope, causing the collision with the vehicles in front of him.

The driver of the dumper, identified as Udya Narayan Ram Kisan Chowdhary, 36, residing in Thakur Complex in Kandivali East, has been arrested by the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) for negligent driving. One of the auto drivers, Rizwan Khan, sustained serious injuries and was taken to V N Desai Hospital in Santacruz for treatment of hand injuries. The other auto driver suffered minor injuries, and a passenger named Shreya Bandgar was admitted to Sion Hospital with injuries as well.

The police have charged the accused driver under sections 281 (rash or negligent driving on public roads) and 125 A (endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as under section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act for dangerous driving.
