Sena vs Sena: Rival Factions Dussehra Rallies in Mumbai – Today’s Updates
Today, the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction led by Uddhav Thackeray and the Shiv Sena faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will be holding separate Dussehra rallies in the state. Both factions aim to showcase their strength just before the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) rally is scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park, while the Ekanth Shinde faction’s rally will be held at Azad Maidan. This division highlights the internal rift within the Shiv Sena party.
Sanjay Raut, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, emphasized the historical significance of their Dussehra rally, which was initiated by Balasaheb Thackery. He also criticized the duplicate Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, referring to the faction led by Modi and Shah. Raut highlighted the symbolic importance of the bow and arrow, noting that despite attempts to appropriate the symbol, the true spirit of Shiv Sena remains strong.
On the other hand, the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) faction spokesperson, Anand Dubey, denounced the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction as a “duplicate” and accused them of betraying Maharashtra’s interests. Dubey asserted that only the original Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, truly represents the values of the party.
Sanjay Nirupam, a leader of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) faction, criticized Uddhav Thackeray for allegedly sidelining Hindutva principles after forming an alliance with Congress. He highlighted the shift in focus from Hindutva to appeasement politics, suggesting a departure from the party’s traditional stance.
In response, Uddhav Thackeray defended Shiv Sena’s commitment to Hindutva values, despite parting ways with the BJP. He emphasized the importance of upholding these principles while also criticizing the BJP for attempting to alter the constitution and inciting conflict in the country.
As the political landscape in Maharashtra heats up ahead of the assembly polls, the rivalry between the two factions of Shiv Sena adds an interesting dimension to the electoral dynamics. With the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition and the Mahayuti Alliance gearing up for a competitive contest, the outcome of the elections remains uncertain.
The Dussehra rallies serve as a platform for each faction to showcase their ideologies and garner support from the public. As Maharashtra awaits the Election Commission’s announcement of poll dates, the political discourse in the state is set to intensify in the coming months.
The conflicting narratives within the Shiv Sena party reflect broader debates around identity, ideology, and political alliances in Maharashtra. As voters prepare to cast their ballots, the choice between the different factions of Shiv Sena will play a crucial role in shaping the state’s future direction.
