Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to kick off a tour of Maharashtra this Saturday, focusing on initiatives in Washim and Mumbai that highlight his government’s priorities in agriculture and urban infrastructure. In Washim, Modi will be inaugurating projects related to agriculture and animal husbandry worth around ₹23,300 crore. One of the main highlights of his visit will be the Banjara Virasat Museum, dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage of the Banjara community. Additionally, Modi will visit the Jagdamba Mata Temple at Poharadevi, a deity revered by the Banjaras.

During his visit, Modi will also focus on the agricultural sector by disbursing the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, a financial support scheme for farmers. This instalment, valued at approximately ₹20,000 crore, is expected to benefit around 9.4 crore farmers across the country. The prime minister will also launch the fifth instalment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, distributing about ₹2,000 crore. Moreover, he will dedicate over 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, collectively worth more than ₹1,920 crore. These projects aim to modernize agricultural infrastructure and include facilities like custom hiring centers, primary processing units, warehouses, and cold storage facilities. Modi will also dedicate 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations to the nation, with a combined turnover of approximately ₹1,300 crore. Additionally, he will launch a unified genomic chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology, marking advancements in animal husbandry.

After his engagements in Washim, the Prime Minister will travel to Mumbai, where he is scheduled to address a public meeting in Thane. There, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various development projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, totaling over ₹32,800 crore. Some of the key initiatives include the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project worth ₹12,200 crore, the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane valued at ₹3,310 crore, and the Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area project estimated at around ₹2,550 crore. Modi will also inaugurate the Metro 3 line, which will run from the Bandra Kurla Complex station to Aarey JVLR, showcasing the government’s commitment to urban mobility. The Prime Minister will even take a ride on the metro between the BKC and Santacruz stations as a symbolic gesture.
