The Coldplay Effect: Navi Mumbai Hotel Prices Soar for Fans
The excitement surrounding Coldplay’s upcoming concerts in Mumbai has reached fever pitch, with fans clamoring to get their hands on tickets to see the British rock band live in action. The demand for tickets was so high that within just 30 minutes, all 1.5 lakh available tickets for the shows at DY Patil Stadium in January were sold out. However, many fans were left disappointed as tickets disappeared almost immediately, leaving them empty-handed.
Hotel Rates Skyrocket in Mumbai
The overwhelming demand for Coldplay tickets has not only impacted ticket prices but also caused a surge in hotel rates in Mumbai. Luxury hotels in the city are hiking their prices in anticipation of the band’s arrival, with some establishments charging up to INR 5 lakh for a three-night stay. This price hike surpasses even the rates typically seen during the busy New Year’s Eve period.
In Navi Mumbai, where the concerts will be held, hotel rates have also skyrocketed during the time of the venue. Five-star properties in the vicinity of DY Patil Stadium are now fully booked for the concert dates, according to hotel aggregator apps. Courtyard by Marriott near the venue and Taj Vivanta in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, have no available rooms during the concert period.
Hotel Price Surge in Navi Mumbai
As the concert dates approach, hotel prices in Navi Mumbai continue to rise, with some properties charging exorbitant amounts for accommodation. Fortune Select Exotica in Vashi, part of the ITC Hotel Group, is charging INR 2.45 lakh for one room for three people for three nights between January 17 and 20. Just a few kilometers away in Turbhe, Fern Residency is charging nearly INR 2 lakh for one room for two people for the same three-night period.
Regenza by Tunga, another hotel in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, is taking advantage of the high demand by charging a whopping INR 4.45 lakh for a three-night stay during the concert period. The Royal Tulip Hotel in Navi Mumbai, however, stands out with its current prices of around INR 10,000, offering a more budget-friendly option for fans attending the concerts.
Booking.com reveals that The Park Navi Mumbai in Belapur, near Nerul, is priced at around INR 25,000 currently. However, the price is expected to increase significantly for the concert dates between January 18 and 19. The same goes for Ibis Navi Mumbai, where current prices start at around INR 10,000, but availability is scarce as fans snatch up rooms in anticipation of the shows.
Planning Ahead for the Coldplay Concerts
With the three Coldplay concerts set for January 18, 19, and 21, fans are urged to plan their accommodation well in advance to avoid missing out on a place to stay during the event. The band will be performing to a capacity crowd of 50,000 at the DY Patil Stadium in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, making it a must-see event for music lovers across India.
As the excitement builds for the highly-anticipated concerts, fans are advised to secure their tickets and accommodation early to ensure they don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Coldplay perform live in Mumbai. With hotel prices soaring and rooms filling up fast, it’s essential to make arrangements ahead of time to guarantee a seamless and unforgettable concert experience.
