Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently launched the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Behet’ campaign in Thane, as part of the Shiv Sena party’s efforts to connect with beneficiary families across the state. This outreach initiative aims to assess the effectiveness of government welfare schemes in improving the lives of women and families in Maharashtra.
During his visit to Kisan Nagar and Jai Bhavani Nagar in Thane, Eknath Shinde interacted with women to understand how they were benefiting from various government initiatives. The campaign, led by the Yuva Sena, is set to reach two crore households in Maharashtra, with a focus on ensuring that no beneficiary is left out.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the collective efforts of Shiv Sena’s ministers, MLAs, MPs, representatives, and Yuva Sena activists to reach one crore homes within a week. Emphasizing the hands-on approach of the campaign, Shinde highlighted the importance of personally engaging with families to ensure they are aware of and utilizing government schemes effectively.
Shinde cited the success of previous outreach programmes like ‘Shasan Aplya Dari,’ which benefited over five crore citizens, and expressed optimism that the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Behet’ campaign would have a similar positive impact. Around one lakh Shiv Sena leaders, activists, and volunteers are expected to participate in the door-to-door campaign over the next two weeks, with an app developed to monitor progress.
Yuva Sena working president Purvesh Sarnaik assured that the party’s goal is to ensure help reaches every household, as they strive to raise awareness about key government schemes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The campaign also aims to dispel any disputes within the ruling Mahayuti alliance regarding credit for welfare schemes such as the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
As part of the initiative, Eknath Shinde visited the homes of several families in Kisan Nagar and Jai Bhavani Nagar, including Reshma Bhaskar Pandav, Archana Patil, and Radha Rawat. He provided information about government welfare schemes available to them and listened to their feedback and concerns.
One beneficiary, Sheetal Kalekar, expressed gratitude for the financial support received through the Ladki Bahin Yojana, despite facing delays in the application process. Another recipient, Swati Ghadge, shared her surprise and joy at having the Chief Minister personally visit her home to discuss her concerns, highlighting the impact of the campaign on individual families.
Overall, the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Behet’ campaign launched by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde in Thane aims to bridge the gap between government welfare schemes and the beneficiaries, ensuring that assistance reaches those in need. Through this initiative, Shiv Sena seeks to engage with communities, empower women, and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for families across the state.
