The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is gearing up for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 with a strong focus on principles of secularism. NCP President Ajit Pawar recently unveiled the party manifesto in Baramati, while State Chief Sunil Tatkare released the manifesto in Mumbai. Tatkare emphasized the state government’s commitment to working towards a secular governance, highlighting Maharashtra’s progress and the benefits provided to women and farmers.
In addition to the state-level manifesto, NCP also revealed constituency-specific manifestos for all the seats it is contesting in the upcoming elections. The party’s leaders, including Pawar, Tatkare, and Working President Praful Patel, led the release of these manifestos in different cities across Maharashtra. The manifesto includes promises to increase financial support for women and farmers, with initiatives like the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ and the Shetkari Sanman Nidhi.
Pawar announced the party’s vision for a ‘New Maharashtra’ within 100 days of government formation, with a focus on welfare programs, job creation, and renewable energy initiatives. The manifesto also includes commitments to waive farmer loans, provide additional subsidies for crops sold under minimum support price, and offer bonuses for paddy farmers. Other promises in the manifesto cover job creation, student stipends, salary increases for workers, and reductions in electricity bills.
The Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 are scheduled for November 20, with the counting of votes set for three days later. The NCP’s manifesto outlines a comprehensive plan for governance that prioritizes the welfare of citizens and the sustainable development of the state. Voters can expect a focus on inclusive policies, economic growth, and social welfare initiatives under the NCP’s leadership in the upcoming elections.
