Hey guys, have you heard about the chaos that went down on Western Railway in Mumbai recently? Yeah, apparently heavy rain and wind caused some serious issues for the local train services between Churchgate and Marine Lines stations. Western Railway made a post on X about it, mentioning that a piece of cloth got stuck on the Overhead Equipment (OHE) and a tree branch fell at another location. Yikes!
The officials were quick to respond, but there were reports of sparks at Marine Lines station and more trouble with the cloth on the overhead wire and the fallen tree branch. The Up and Down slow line trains were held up, causing quite a bit of a headache for commuters. However, the fast lines were operating normally, so at least there was some relief there.
After a bit of a delay, the Western Railway team managed to get things back on track. Train operations on the UP Slow Line were finally restored, much to the relief of everyone involved. It’s been a rough couple of days for the railway services in Mumbai, with similar issues occurring the night before due to rain and gusty winds.
On Tuesday night, both Western Railway and Central Railway services were affected by the bad weather. The piece of cloth on the overhead wire near Dahisar caused sparking and power problems, leading to some anxious moments for passengers. The AC local train even experienced some fluctuations, adding to the chaos.
The Central Railway lines also faced their fair share of issues, with overhead equipment tripping due to the strong winds and rain. Passengers on the trans-harbour line found themselves stranded as services were disrupted. It was a real mess out there!
Thankfully, things seem to be getting back to normal now. The Western Railway spokesperson mentioned that services were running again after ensuring all safety measures. It’s been a wild ride, but hopefully, the worst is behind us. Stay safe out there, folks!
