Congress leader Rashid Alvi has expressed his concerns about the recent murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader and former state minister Baba Siddique in Maharashtra. Alvi has called for a CBI investigation into the case, questioning the arrests of two individuals so far as “suspicious.” He believes that these arrests were made to cover up the incompetence of the state police.
Alvi’s remarks raise important questions about the state’s law-and-order situation and public safety, especially when a well-known politician like Baba Siddique can be shot dead in such a brazen manner. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation by the CBI to uncover the truth behind the murder.
In addition to Alvi’s statements, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has also raised suspicions about the murder case. Thackeray highlighted the lack of transparency and accountability in the government’s actions, whether it involves the arrest of the accused in Baba Siddique’s murder or the encounter of other criminals.
The Mumbai Crime Branch police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder – Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh. However, a third accused is still at large. Singh has been remanded to police custody until October 21, while the court has ordered further investigation into Kashyap’s age through an ossification test.
The calls for a CBI investigation and the doubts surrounding the arrests in Baba Siddique’s murder case underscore the need for a thorough and impartial inquiry to bring the perpetrators to justice. The safety and security of public figures and ordinary citizens alike depend on a robust law enforcement system that upholds justice and ensures accountability.
As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial for the authorities to address the concerns raised by political leaders and the public regarding the handling of such high-profile cases. The outcome of the investigation will not only determine the course of justice in this particular case but also reflect on the overall state of law and order in Maharashtra.
