Tragic Accident: Luxury Car Hits Two Men Sleeping on Versova Beach

Following Srivastava’s police complaint, authorities launched an investigation into the matter and identified two suspects involved in the incident. Nikhil Dilip Jawate, a 34-year-old resident of Nagpur, and Shubham Ashok Dumbre, a 33-year-old resident of Airoli in Navi Mumbai, were apprehended by the police. The Senior Inspector of Versova Police Station, Ganesh Pawar, confirmed that the investigation was ongoing.

The driver of the car has been charged with manslaughter, negligence causing grievous hurt, failure to report a crime, negligent driving in public, and other violations under the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure. During their court appearance, both Jawate and Dumbre were remanded to police custody for five days as the investigation continues. The authorities are also awaiting the results of the suspects’ blood tests to determine if they were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
