Celebrating 6th Anniversary of CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Mumbai
Central Railway in Mumbai recently commemorated the 6th anniversary of its iconic CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in a grand celebration filled with enthusiasm and pride. Passengers, rail fans, train staff, coaching depot staff, and Central Railway employees came together to mark this special occasion, making it a memorable event for all involved.
History of the Rajdhani Express
The Rajdhani Express, operating between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Hazrat Nizamuddin, was introduced on 19th January 2019 with a single First AC, Three AC 2-Tier, Eight AC 3-Tier, and one pantry car. The overwhelming response from passengers led to the addition of two extra AC 2-Tier and AC 3-Tier coaches within a month of its launch. Initially starting as a Bi-weekly service, the train now runs daily, showcasing its popularity and efficiency.
Technological Advancements
Central Railway’s Rajdhani Express holds the distinction of being India’s first train to run on Push-Pull technology, aligning with the government’s “Mission Raftar” to enhance railway operations. This innovative mode involves using one engine at the front and one at the rear, eliminating the need for attaching and detaching bankers in challenging sections, thereby saving time and reducing journey durations significantly.
Milestone Achievements
The Rajdhani Express is more than just a train; it symbolizes the progress and excellence of Indian Railways by delivering speed, comfort, and reliability to passengers. With its operational efficiency and commitment to excellence, the Rajdhani Express continues to set new benchmarks in the railway industry, paving the way for future advancements and improvements.
In addition to celebrating the 6th anniversary of the Rajdhani Express, the Central Railway’s Mumbai Division achieved record-breaking success in freight loading, showcasing their dedication to providing exceptional service and meeting the growing demands of passengers and businesses. This milestone achievement reflects the division’s commitment to excellence and efficiency, setting a new standard for railway operations in the region.
