Tragic Mumbai Building Collapse: 3 Dead, 2 Injured in Malad Incident – Watch Video

In a devastating incident in Mumbai, three laborers lost their lives and two others were injured when a portion of a slab at an under-construction building in Malad collapsed. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials reported that the tragedy occurred at the Navjeevan Building in the Govind Nagar area of Malad East around 12:09 pm on Thursday afternoon.

According to initial information provided by the BMC, the top floor slab of the 20-storey under-construction Malad building gave way, leading to the fatal accident. The injured laborers were promptly taken to the nearby M W Desai Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, doctors at the hospital were unable to save two of the injured individuals, declaring them dead upon arrival.

The names and ages of the deceased and injured laborers are currently being awaited from the hospital authorities, as the community mourns the loss of these hardworking individuals. The BMC also disclosed that two of the injured laborers are currently receiving intensive care in the ICU, while another is being treated in the male Orthopedic ward.

In a separate incident in Navi Mumbai, around 70 residents of a five-storied building in Koparkhairne were evacuated after the gallery slab collapsed. Thankfully, no one was injured in this particular incident, as the fire brigade personnel swiftly responded to clear the debris and ensure the safety of the residents.

Two families from the affected building were relocated to a relief camp, while arrangements were made to provide alternative accommodation for the remaining residents.
