The Online Open Environment School, a collaborative effort by the Thane Municipal Corporation and the Environment Protection Board, recently marked the completion of its first year. As the initiative embarks on its second year, a session focusing on ‘Environment on Forts’ is set to kick off on 21st February at 4:00 PM. Renowned trekker Shekhar Rajeshirke, known for his extensive experience in trekking and mountain exploration, will be leading the session. Notably, Rajeshirke is also the author of the book Dongarwata.
Over the past year, the Online Open Environment School has provided invaluable guidance on a wide range of environmental topics, including local biodiversity, human impact on the environment, pollution, waste management, water issues, the importance of wetlands, eco-friendly festivals, and the proper disposal of religious offerings. With a total of 52 sessions conducted so far, the Environmental Protection Forum has played a key role in coordinating these informative sessions. Boasting 25 years of experience in environmental conservation, education, and awareness, the Environmental Protection Forum has facilitated discussions on critical subjects such as environment and self-awareness, ecosystems, biodiversity, water audits, natural resources, eco-friendly celebrations, global warming, climate change, renewable and non-renewable energy sources, health and the environment, chemical-free lifestyles, and more.
