Mumbai police are on the hunt for a third shooter who has been bragging about his “gangster” status on social media. The shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, is wanted for the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Joint teams from Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh are focusing their search on places of worship in Ujjain and Khandwa districts. Three individuals have already been arrested in connection with the murder, including alleged shooters Gurmail Baljit Singh and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, as well as co-conspirator Pravin Lonkar. Another suspect, Mohammad Yasin Akhtar, is also wanted in the case.
The Mumbai police are working closely with their counterparts in Madhya Pradesh to track down the third shooter, who is believed to be hiding in the area. Ujjain and Khandwa are known for their famous temples, such as Mahakal and Omkareshwar, which attract many visitors daily. While there is speculation that the shooter may seek refuge in these places, the police are also monitoring other locations.
NCP leader Siddique was ambushed and shot dead by three individuals outside his son’s office in Mumbai. A social media post claiming responsibility for the murder has been attributed to a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Mumbai Police have established 15 teams to investigate various angles of the case, including the possibility of a contract killing or political rivalry.
Shivkumar Gautam, one of the suspects, has been actively posting content online, showcasing his alleged involvement in criminal activities. Despite having no prior criminal record, Gautam has been linked to the high-profile murder of Siddique. The third accused, Pravin Lonkar, has been remanded in police custody for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, another suspect, Yasin Akhtar, is facing multiple criminal cases, including murder and attempted murder. Akhtar, who hails from Jalandhar, Punjab, has been associated with gangster Vikram Brar. The police are working tirelessly to apprehend all individuals involved in the murder of Siddique.
The Mumbai police have revealed that only one constable was present with Siddique at the time of the attack, despite being assigned three for security. The shooting took place during the cover of Dussehra fireworks, with six rounds being fired at Siddique, resulting in his tragic death. Security measures are now under scrutiny, as the investigation into the murder continues.
