A portion of a three-story building in Byculla, Mumbai, collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, but fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The collapse happened at Karim Building on Maulana Azad Road in the Madanpura area of Byculla. The first-floor slab and plaster of the G+3 structure collapsed, leading to the evacuation of at least 30 rooms and 8 shops. Emergency services, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, BEST, ward staff, and the 108 ambulance, responded to the scene promptly.

The building affected by the collapse is a Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) property. MHADA staff are currently on-site to assess the damage and ensure the safety of residents and shopkeepers. Thankfully, no injuries were reported due to the incident.

In a separate incident in Thane city, a fire broke out at a dairy products shop in the early hours of Tuesday. The shop, located near a school on Sabegaon Road in the Diva area, was completely gutted by the blaze. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and no injuries were sustained. Local fire personnel, the regional disaster management cell team, power supply company officials, and police responded to the fire promptly.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within a reasonable time frame, and cooling operations were carried out to prevent any further flare-ups. Unfortunately, the shop and all its equipment, including three refrigerators, were completely charred in the fire. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
