The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has announced a comprehensive statewide tour led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, named the ‘Jan Samman Yatra’. This tour is scheduled to kick off on 8th August and will cover Maharashtra in five phases. The main focus of this tour is to connect with citizens throughout the state and shed light on the key initiatives outlined in the recent state budget, particularly the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’.
Ajit Pawar’s aim during this tour is not only to raise awareness about these initiatives but also to address any confusion that may have been spread by opposition parties. This will be his first statewide tour of this nature, starting with eleven assembly constituencies in north Maharashtra in the initial leg. The tour will then move on to cover other regions including Vidarbha and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
In response to criticisms from the opposition, NCP national working president Praful Patel defended the initiatives, stating that they are not merely election-driven schemes. He highlighted the financial provisions made in the state budget to support these initiatives. Patel also pointed out that the opposition parties have been quick to criticize without offering any substantial alternative solutions.
State NCP president Tatkare stressed the educational aspect of the tour, noting that many citizens are unaware of the benefits of these schemes. Ajit Pawar’s goal is to engage with the people, listen to their concerns, and address any issues they may be facing regarding the state budget initiatives. This interactive approach aims to bridge the gap between the government and the citizens, ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach those who need them the most.
The ‘Jan Samman Yatra’ is not just a political campaign but a platform for dialogue and understanding between the government and the people. It serves as an opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions, express their concerns, and actively participate in the governance process.
