So, like, a BMC dude was all like, “Yo, when we peeped this vid of a sofa getting chucked into the river, it was mad crazy. Folks need to get it that a river or drain is not a dumping spot, ya know?”

During a recent trip for cleaning out the nullahs, the big boss Bhushan Gagrani from BMC saw trash floating around, mainly plastic, just chilling in the nullah. Pics of BMC

After a vid went viral of a cop tossing a sofa into the Dahisar river, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is asking the police department to hit up the ward offices about dealing with solid waste and monsoon-related issues, the officials shared.

A Twitter user, ‘Citizens Speak’, dropped a vid showing cops dumping a sofa into the Dahisar river near Bhimashankar Heights, Dahisar West.
“The sofa was dumped under the bridge by some irresponsible citizens. When peeps ratted them out to Mumbai Police, they tossed it into the Dahisar river,” the post read. Then, BMC came through and removed the sofa from the river.

“Yo, ideally, stuff like that sofa should not be trashed in the drain. If that happens, peeps should hit up the local ward office, and they can sort out the transport and disposal, you feel me? The police crew has also been asked to link up with the right BMC ward office when they hear about complaints on waste management and stormwater drainage, to make sure we deal with it quick and proper,” BMC said in a post.

The Storm Water Drainage Department (Western Suburbs) handled the issue, and the sofa in the Dahisar River got dipped out. Ideally, stuff like that should not be thrown in drains. So, if that goes down, peeps should hit up the local ward office, which can… you know? Pics of the sofa being removed from the river pic.twitter.com/8VydlhDzbn

BMC made a plea to all peeps to not be throwing trash or solid waste into drains, ’cause it messes up the drainage system big time.

One BMC homie was like, “When we peeped that sofa getting tossed into the river, it was wild. Peeps gotta get that a river or drain ain’t where you chuck your stuff.”

Meanwhile, during a recent visit for cleaning out the nullahs, Bhushan Gagrani saw floating trash—mostly plastic—just chilling in the nullah.
Gagrani was like, “Yo, don’t be trashing the nullahs, ’cause it messes with the water flow.”

BMC is working on putting iron nets around the nullahs, especially near the slum spots. The Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar found trash in the nullahs in Mankhurd and other areas. He suggested iron nets to stop more trash being tossed in.

So, yeah, that’s the deal. Trash ain’t cool, and rivers and drains ain’t dumping spots. Let’s keep it clean, peeps!
