Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule recently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) current leadership during a campaign rally in Navi Mumbai. Sule expressed her disappointment over an alleged audio recording of BJP MLA Manda Mhatre using inappropriate language, which Mhatre has denied.
Sule highlighted instances of BJP leaders engaging in threatening behavior and assaulting party workers, calling out Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his inflammatory rhetoric and perceived inaction against misconduct. She contrasted Fadnavis’s tenure with that of former Home Minister R R Patil, whom she praised for ensuring transparent police recruitment.
In addition to her criticism of the BJP leadership, Sule also addressed the party’s labeling of the NCP as the ‘Naturally Corrupt Party’ and their recent comments on Rahul Gandhi’s red-bound constitution copy. She emphasized that political discourse has deteriorated and accused the BJP of resorting to communal politics out of desperation.
NCP State President Jayant Patil echoed Sule’s sentiments, claiming that the BJP’s tactics, including bringing Yogi from Uttar Pradesh to speak divisively in Maharashtra, reflect their desperation. He also mentioned Prime Minister Modi’s poor attendance at a recent event in Mumbai, suggesting that people are growing tired of the BJP’s politics.
Overall, Sule and Patil’s criticisms of the BJP’s leadership and tactics highlight a growing discontent with the party’s conduct and a call for more transparent and inclusive governance in Maharashtra. These comments come as the state gears up for upcoming elections, with political parties vying for voter support and trust.
