The Gorai police in Mumbai have arrested a man named Mohammed Sattar in connection to the murder of a 21-year-old Bihar resident whose body was found dismembered in plastic bags near a village in Borivali West. The victim, identified as Raghunandan Paswan, was allegedly killed due to his relationship with a minor girl from a different religion, which her family objected to.
Raghunandan’s father, Jitendra Paswan, explained that his son had helped the girl from his district with some medicines, leading to their friendship. When the girl’s family discovered this, her eldest brother threatened Raghunandan. Despite seeking assurance of safety from the village head, Raghunandan went missing after informing his family that he was going to Mumbai for vacation.
The police were able to track down the suspect, Mohammed Sattar, in Bhayander. Sattar confessed to the murder, revealing that he had lured Raghunandan to his flat with alcohol before killing him on October 31. Sattar then dismembered the body into seven pieces and disposed of them in Gorai village. The autorickshaw driver who was unwittingly used to transport the body parts has been questioned by the police.
Sattar has been arrested for murder and will appear before the Borivali magistrate court. The police are investigating the motive behind the murder and whether anyone else was involved in the crime. The victim’s family is devastated by the loss of their only son and is seeking justice for Raghunandan’s death.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of interfaith relationships in certain communities and the extreme measures some individuals may take to enforce their beliefs. It also underscores the importance of ensuring the safety and protection of individuals who may face threats or harm due to their personal choices.
As the investigation unfolds, more details may emerge regarding the circumstances leading to Raghunandan’s untimely death. The authorities are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and providing closure to the victim’s family. In the meantime, the community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
