Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, didn’t hold back when he criticized his nephew, Ajit Pawar, for causing family conflicts due to his political ambitions. This criticism came during Sharad Pawar’s campaign for his grand-nephew, Yugendra Pawar, who is contesting in the ongoing elections.

The rift within the Pawar family has been brought to light once again during the assembly elections. Ajit Pawar, who is the Deputy Chief Minister in the ruling Mahayuti government, had previously hinted that the family conflict could have been avoided by the seniors. He also mentioned that Yugendra’s entry into politics was influenced by Sharad Pawar. In response, Sharad Pawar emphasized that his upbringing never taught him to break the family and highlighted his role as a mentor who has entrusted party responsibilities to the younger generation.

During his address at a rally, Sharad Pawar took a dig at Ajit Pawar’s past alliances and questioned whether personal ambitions should lead to breaking the family. He also mentioned a recent incident where the Final Assembly Line (FAL) of Tata Advanced Systems and Airbus, originally planned for Maharashtra, was shifted to Gujarat allegedly at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, refuted these claims and clarified that the MOU for the project was signed during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s tenure. Fadnavis emphasized the importance of truth and transparency in political narratives, especially when it comes to development projects and investments.

Sharad Pawar further added that Ratan Tata had initially chosen Maharashtra for the project, but it was later relocated to Gujarat under the Modi government. This incident sheds light on the complex dynamics of politics and the impact of personal ambitions on family relationships within the political sphere.

As the election tensions rise, the Pawar family feud serves as a stark reminder of the challenges and conflicts that can arise when personal ambitions clash with familial ties in the realm of politics. The public scrutiny and criticism faced by prominent political figures like Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar highlight the need for integrity and unity within families, even amidst differing political ideologies and aspirations. This episode underscores the delicate balance between personal goals and familial responsibilities in the high-stakes world of Indian politics.
